~ Governor Greg Abbott celebrated a major milestone for the state of Texas today as he attended the opening of the Constellation Pin Oak peaking power plant. This project, backed by the Texas Energy Fund, is the first of its kind to come online and is expected to provide more reliable and affordable power to the state's grid.

As the largest electrical power generator in America, Governor Abbott expressed his pride in expanding on this leadership by adding 460 megawatts of electricity to the grid. He emphasized that this project will ensure that there is extra power available during times of peak demand, ultimately benefiting thousands of homes and businesses in Texas.

The Governor also took a moment to thank Constellation Energy for their investment in the state and for powering its future. This sentiment was echoed by President and CEO of Calpine and Senior Executive Vice President of Constellation Power Operations, Andrew Novotny. He stated that when they joined Governor Abbott in December 2023 to announce this project, they made a commitment to bring new and reliable power to the Texas grid. Today, they have delivered on that promise.
