Governor Abbott Appoints Three To Texas Holocaust, Genocide, And Antisemitism Advisory Committee

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Larry Levine and LeElle Slifer, as well as reappointed Sandra Hagee Parker, to the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Committee. Their terms are set to expire on February 1, 2031.
The committee is responsible for conducting studies on anti-Semitism in the state of Texas and providing assistance to schools. They also meet with representatives from public and private organizations to educate and raise awareness about these important issues.
Larry Levine, a Houston native, has been appointed as the chairman of Levcor, Inc. He brings a wealth of experience to the committee with his membership in various organizations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Coronado Club, and Texas A&M University's Association of Former Students. Levine also served in the United States Army Military Police Corps and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from TAMU.

LeElle Slifer, from Dallas, is a partner at King & Spalding Dallas. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas (SBOT), New York State Bar, and the Federalist Society. Slifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Neuropsychology and Political Science from Duke University, as well as a Certificate in Judaic Studies. She also earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
Sandra Hagee Parker hails from San Antonio and has been reappointed to the committee. She currently serves as chairwoman of the Board for CUFI Action Fund and is a board member for Aid the Silent. Parker is also a member of SBOT. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Trinity University before going on to earn an Executive Master of Public Service & Administration from TAMU's Bush School of Government and Public Service. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from St. Mary's School of Law.
The Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Committee plays a crucial role in addressing and combating these issues in the state. With the appointment and reappointment of these highly qualified individuals, the committee is well-equipped to continue their important work for years to come.
