Governor Abbott Appoints Gilmore, Jordan To Texas Crime Stoppers Council

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has made appointments to the Texas Crime Stoppers Council. Perry Gilmore, Ph.D. has been reappointed and Jeff Jordan has been newly appointed to the council for terms that will expire on September 1, 2029.
The Texas Crime Stoppers Council is responsible for advising the Governor on crime stoppers programs in the state and certifying local crime stoppers programs to receive rewards or probation fees as outlined in the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Perry Gilmore, Ph.D., hailing from Amarillo, brings a wealth of experience to the council with 47 years in law enforcement. He currently serves as a part-time professional staff civilian and reserve police officer with the Amarillo Police Department. Gilmore holds a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Sam Houston State University, as well as a Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration from West Texas State University. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from Northcentral University.

Joining Gilmore on the council is Jeff Jordan from Kyle. Jordan is currently a sergeant with the Hays County Sheriff's Office and is an active member of various law enforcement associations such as the Fraternal Order of Police and Texas Municipal Police Association. He also serves as executive director for Hays County Crime Stoppers Association and volunteers for Sunshine Kids Hill Country Adventure.
Jordan's impressive credentials include a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in History from Texas State University, as well as Peace Officer License from Hays County Sheriff's Academy. He also holds Master Peace Officer and Law Enforcement Certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. In addition to his career in law enforcement, Jordan also served honorably in the United States Marine Corps.
With these appointments, Governor Abbott has chosen two highly qualified individuals to serve on the Texas Crime Stoppers Council and help ensure effective crime stoppers programs throughout the state. Their expertise and dedication will undoubtedly make a valuable contribution to the council's important work.
