TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has reappointed Joseph Battista and Troy Stefano to the Commission for Independent Education. Battista, who currently serves as the Vice President of Workforce, Career, and Professional Education at Valencia College, brings a wealth of experience to the commission. He is also a member of the CareerSource Central Florida Board of Directors and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in finance from St. Joseph's University.

Joining Battista on the commission is Troy Stefano, PhD. Stefano is a Professor of Theological Studies at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary and also serves as President and Founder of Health Copilot AI, Inc., as well as President of Stefano Consulting. He is an active member of various organizations such as the American Catholic Philosophical Association, the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, and the American Public Health Association. Stefano holds a bachelor's degree in history from St. Thomas University, a master's degree in theological studies from the University of Notre Dame, and a doctorate from the same university.
