Florida: Governor Ron DeSantis Makes Four Judicial Appointments

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed four individuals to serve as judges in various courts across the state of Florida.
One of the appointments is Johnathan Lott, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, who will now serve as a Judge on the Fourth District Court of Appeal. Lott brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously served as a Circuit Court Judge for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court since 2024. He also has a background as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Lott holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and a juris doctor from the University of Chicago Law School. He will be filling the vacancy left by Judge Artau's resignation.
Another appointment is Kristina Mobley, hailing from Green Cove Springs, who will now serve as a Judge on the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court. Mobley has been serving as a County Court Judge for Clay County in the Fourth Judicial Circuit since 2015 and has also worked as a Judicial Staff Attorney for the same circuit. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida and a juris doctor from the University of Florida. Mobley's appointment fills the vacancy created by Senate Bill 2508.

Jarred Patterson, from Port Saint Joe, has been appointed to serve as Judge on the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Court. Patterson brings with him extensive experience in law enforcement, having served as Chief Assistant State Attorney for Gulf County in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit and previously in the Second Judicial Circuit. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of West Florida and a juris doctor from Barry University. Patterson will be filling another vacancy created by Senate Bill 2508.
Lastly, Pascale Achille, residing in Fort Lauderdale, has been appointed to serve as Judge on the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court. Achille has been working as an Assistant State Attorney for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit since 2015 and has also worked as an associate for Bast Amron LLP. She holds a bachelor's degree from Florida State University and a juris doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. Achille's appointment fills the vacancy left by Judge Farmer's resignation.
These appointments come as a result of the enactment of Senate Bill 2508, which created several judicial vacancies across the state. With these new appointments, Governor DeSantis hopes to continue strengthening the judicial system in Florida and ensuring that justice is served for all citizens.
