• Proceeds benefit the Women's Breast & Heart Initiative, expanding access to breast cancer and heart disease education, prevention, and early detection programs statewide.
• Floridians can purchase the plate during registration or renewal, and those with presale vouchers can redeem them in person or online at escambiataxcollector.com/voucherredemption/

MIAMI - Rezul -- Florida drivers now have a new way to support prevention and early detection efforts focused on two of women's leading health threats: breast cancer and heart disease.

The "Disease Prevention & Early Detection" specialty license plate is now available statewide, becoming Florida's first specialty license plate dedicated to both causes. Proceeds benefit the Women's Breast & Heart Initiative (WBHI), a Florida-based nonprofit dedicated to education, prevention, and early detection programs that help women reduce their risk and improve long-term health outcomes.

The specialty plate enables drivers to turn vehicle registration into direct support for prevention-focused programs serving communities throughout Florida.

Breast cancer and heart disease remain among the leading health threats facing women. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women in the United States.

While early detection significantly improves outcomes, many communities continue to face barriers to screenings, preventive care, and health education. Funds generated through the specialty plate will help expand WBHI outreach efforts, health education programs, care coordination, patient navigation, and early detection services to help women across Florida beat the odds of breast cancer and heart disease.

"This license plate gives every Florida driver the opportunity to make prevention part of their daily lives," said Andrea Ivory, founder and executive director of the Women's Breast & Heart Initiative. "As Florida's first specialty license plate dedicated to both breast cancer and heart disease prevention and early detection, it gives Floridians a simple way to support education, screenings, and resources that can help save lives."

The specialty plate became available after meeting Florida's presale requirements and receiving strong statewide support. Drivers can purchase the plate at local tax collector offices, authorized tag agencies, or during vehicle registration renewal. Floridians who previously purchased a presale voucher are encouraged to redeem it through their local tax collector office, authorized tag agency, or online (https://escambiataxcollector.com/voucherredempt...) for mail receipt and be among the first to display the new plate.

The annual specialty plate fee directly supports WBHI's mission to reduce preventable deaths through awareness, education, and early detection.
