Denry Okpor Publishes No One Is Coming, for Care Leavers Starting Again

LONDON - Rezul -- Denry Okpor, a UK-based serial entrepreneur, author, actor and property investor, has published No One Is Coming: What Machiavelli Taught a Boy Raised in Care About Power, Respect and Rebuilding Your Life. The paperback takes the hard lessons of Niccolò Machiavelli's The Prince and translates them for anyone who has had to raise themselves.

Okpor was born in Warri, Nigeria. After losing both of his parents, he came to London as a boy and went into foster care. At university, a mentor pointed him towards The Prince, and it changed how he faced the world. He went on to build businesses including Sips Nail Spa & Bar, whose venues in Stratford, Mayfair and Croydon he designed, built and ran. No One Is Coming is the book he wishes someone had handed him at eighteen.

Across seven parts and 33 chapters, the book covers choosing what deserves your energy, earning respect by being firm and fair, setting boundaries, facing the wounds you didn't choose, rebuilding after a fall, understanding money when you grew up with none, choosing your people, breaking the cycle for the next generation and building the discipline to play the long game. Each part opens with a true story from Okpor's life. Every chapter includes Street Rules and Questions to Sit With, and every part ends with a practical challenge. The book also includes The Care Leaver's Field Guide, covering what nobody tells you at eighteen, from your pathway plan and personal adviser to bursaries and money, plus the Rules at a Glance and a guide for working through the book as a group.

"Machiavelli wrote for princes. This one is for us," said Denry Okpor. "Nobody is coming to save you. That also means nobody else gets to decide how your story ends."

No One Is Coming is written for care leavers and young people still in care, for anyone who grew up without a safety net, and for anyone starting again. It is also intended for the mentors, youth workers, foster carers and social workers who support them.

The paperback (196 pages; ISBN-13 979-8-1402-5446-9) is available on Amazon UK at https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0HQKS4HG1.
