Customers in East Kansas City may experience low water pressure due to active transmission main work

~ Kansas City Water Department experienced a setback on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 while making improvements to a transmission main connected to a water pump station near 63rd and Hardesty. According to reports, a part broke when water was restored, leading to the main needing additional repairs.
In response, KC Water has been closely monitoring the water reserves from the pump station and is working on feeding from other stations across the city to help backfill the site. However, customers on the east side of the city, particularly those near Raytown, may experience low water pressure until the repairs are completed.

The department has assured that full repairs are scheduled to be completed by Wednesday afternoon, October 8th. A map outlining potentially impacted residences has been provided for reference. Customers with any questions or concerns are advised to contact 3-1-1 or 816-513-1313 for assistance.
