Community members invited to come learn about Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia is launching a new initiative called Community Classroom, aimed at promoting engagement and transparency between residents and city government. The series of interactive sessions will cover various topics related to city service lines and departments, with the first session focusing on the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

According to CVB director Amy Schneider, the sessions are an exciting opportunity to provide transparency around city operations and directly engage with residents. "We're excited to provide these sessions that cover a broader range of topics important to our community," said Schneider.

The first session will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Conference Rooms 1A/1B at City Hall. A second session will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 6-8 p.m., also at City Hall. Both sessions will cover the same content, with two time slots offered to accommodate more participants.

All Columbia residents are invited to attend the sessions, but are asked to register beforehand at https://forms.gle/Xpr7p8zgcU64un7G7 in order for enough refreshments to be provided.

The Community Classroom series is part of the City's Community Connectors program, which aims to foster dialogue and build trust between community members and city government. To learn more about the program, visit CoMo.gov/connect.
