Columbia: Update: Lane closures for road work on East Walnut Street now scheduled for Nov. 10-21

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia Public Works Street division has announced a change in the start date for road work on East Walnut Street. Due to construction delays, crews will now begin work at 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, east of Old U.S. 63.
According to a previous press release, sections of the roadway edge have been deteriorating between Old U.S. 63 and Calvin Drive. These areas, marked with dotted lines and utility locate flags, will be replaced with concrete to stabilize the roadway.

It should be noted that work will not take place on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11, as previously stated in the release. This is due to it being a City-observed holiday.
During the project, lane closures will be necessary and flaggers will be present to guide traffic through the area safely. Drivers are advised to slow down and watch for workers.
Weather permitting, all lanes are expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 when the project is scheduled to be completed.
