Columbia Police respond to bomb threat at Douglass High School

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a bomb and firearm threat at Douglass High School on the morning of August 18th. The call came in at 10:10 a.m., prompting officers to quickly arrive at the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that only school staff were present inside the building and no students were present.

As a precautionary measure, school staff were evacuated and escorted to a safe location while Columbia Police officers, along with members of the CPD and MUPD K9 Unit, and an MUPD bomb technician cleared the building. After a thorough search, no threats were found inside or near the building.
