Columbia Police respond to assault in 1600 block of Richardson Street, April 24.

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a reported assault in the 1600 block of Richardson Street at approximately 12:07 p.m. on Tuesday. According to initial information, two individuals were involved in an altercation and one person was stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers quickly detained one person and provided emergency medical care to the injured individual. EMS and Columbia Fire Department personnel also arrived on the scene to assist with medical treatment. The injured person was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Fortunately, no additional threats were reported or observed by officers. The Columbia Police Department would like to extend their gratitude to all first responders who assisted with this incident.
