~ Colorado Springs, CO - The City of Colorado Springs has officially opened registration for its Therapeutic Recreation Program (TRP) summer season. This program offers a variety of recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities from June through August.
The focus of this summer's TRP is on youth camps, specifically Discovery Camp and Teen S.C.O.P.E. Camp. These camps provide a structured and supportive environment for participants to develop skills, connect with others, and explore new interests.
Discovery Camp is open to children ages 6-12 and offers a safe and supportive space for socialization, exploration, and building confidence through play. The camp will be held four days a week in June and July, with a focus on fun activities, skill-building, and positive experiences in small group settings.
For older youth ages 13-18, Teen S.C.O.P.E. Camp (Summer Camp Opportunities with Possibilities for Everyone) provides opportunities to engage in group games, crafts, sensory activities, sports, swimming, and more. This camp will also be held four days a week in June and July and is designed for participants who thrive in structured group environments.
