Colorado Springs: Annual City greenhouse surplus plant sale sells out on opening day

~ Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PRCS) Department expressed their gratitude towards the community for their overwhelming support during the annual City greenhouse surplus plant sale. The event, which took place on Thursday, July 23, sold out on its first day, resulting in the cancellation of the remaining sale dates on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25.
According to PRCS, the sale featured thousands of native and water-wise plants grown by the City's greenhouse staff. The donations received from the event will go towards maintaining and improving the greenhouse facility. This will help support the greenhouse program that provides flowers and plants for Colorado Springs parks, trails, medians and public spaces.

City Horticulturist Alex Crochet expressed his gratitude towards the community for their enthusiastic support. He stated that this year's response exceeded their expectations and showed how much residents value locally grown and climate-appropriate plants. Crochet also mentioned that every donation made through the sale will contribute towards growing beautiful and resilient landscapes that benefit the entire community.
PRCS would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this year's sale. They look forward to welcoming residents back for future greenhouse events. With such a positive response from the community, PRCS hopes to continue providing high-quality plants while also supporting their greenhouse program.
