In line with this goal, Governor Polis recently took executive action to create a task force that will develop strategies to safeguard communities, water resources, and forests. The task force will also support Colorado's outdoor recreation economy and enhance fire mitigation and response efforts.
To further aid in these efforts, Governor Polis plans to extend and increase tax incentives for wildfire mitigation and beetle kill projects. He also intends to secure funding for critical wildfire mitigation, community outreach, research needs, and resources that can attract larger federal funding streams.
For those interested in learning more about the Mountain Pine Beetle and its impact on Colorado's forests, the Colorado State Forest Service webpage provides valuable information. With initiatives like these in place, Governor Polis hopes to protect Colorado's natural resources while promoting sustainable practices within local businesses like Medicine Wolf Log Furniture.
