Colorado: Governor Polis Signs Bills Into Law

DENVER ~ Denver - In a move to improve the state's dental services, Governor Polis signed HB26-1070 into law today. The bill, sponsored by Representatives Anthony Hartsook and Kyle Brown, and Senators Iman Jodeh and Lisa Frizell, allows for third-party network agreements for dental services.

Another bill signed by the governor was HB26-1099, which aims to protect the financial condition of homeowners associations. This bill was sponsored by Representatives Brianna Titone and Kenny Nguyen, and Senators Chris Kolker and Janice Marchman.

Governor Polis also signed HB26-1136 into law, which creates a Department of Personnel Program Pathways to Public Service. This bill was sponsored by Representatives Meghan Lukens and Matthew Martinez, and Senators William Lindstedt and Katie Wallace.

In addition, the governor signed HB26-1142 into law, which focuses on child advocacy centers. The bill was sponsored by Representatives Rick Taggart and Andrew Boesenecker, and Senators Dylan Roberts and Matt Ball.

Other bills signed into law include HB26-1180 - Sunset Business Intelligence Center Advisory Board; HB26-1185 - Sunset Cold Case Task Force; HB26-1189 - Uniform Community Property Disposition Death Act; HB26-1191 - Examination of School District Records; HB26-1192 - Homeless Prevention Activities Program Restructure; and HB26-1205 - Colorado State Forest Service Good Neighbor Authority.

Governor Polis stated in his signing statement that these bills will have a positive impact on the state's communities. He also commended the efforts of all the sponsors in bringing these bills to fruition.

These new laws will go into effect immediately as they were signed administratively by Governor Polis.
