Joining her on the bench is Mr. Brown, who has been serving as a Magistrate in the 18th Judicial District since 2024. His docket focuses on criminal matters and he has previously held positions as a Senior Assistant County Attorney in Douglas County and a Deputy District Attorney in the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office. He also has experience working as an Associate Attorney at Nemirow Perez, P.C. Mr. Brown earned his Bachelor's degree from State University of New York at Potsdam and his Juris Doctorate from University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
Both appointments will be effective in 2026, with Ms. Elliott-Dumler taking on her new role on June 1st and Mr. Brown beginning his duties on July 1st.
Governor Polis expressed confidence in both appointees, stating that their extensive legal backgrounds make them well-suited for their new positions on the bench.
