DENVER ~ Denver, CO - As Thanksgiving approaches, Governor Jared Polis and Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera have extended their warmest wishes to all Coloradans for a happy and prosperous holiday. In a joint statement, the two leaders urged families to come together and celebrate with loved ones while also giving back to the community.
Governor Polis expressed his gratitude for the people of Colorado, saying, "Happy Thanksgiving Colorado! I wish every family a day full of joy, gratitude, and laughter tomorrow. This is a time for us to celebrate what we are thankful for with those who mean the most to us." He also emphasized the importance of giving back, stating, "Thanksgiving is also a time to give back to our community. I hope Coloradans who are able to, also give thanks by supporting those in our community who are in need."
The governor's commitment to giving back was recently demonstrated when he volunteered and donated food at the Village Exchange Center. Lt. Governor Primavera echoed his sentiments, saying, "I am pleased to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a great time to come together and spend time with loved ones, take part in the season of giving and give thanks." She encouraged Coloradans to take action in their communities by serving meals or donating resources.

In line with her words, Lt. Governor Primavera served meals at the Denver Rescue Mission's Thanksgiving event on Monday. She also reminded everyone to keep in mind those who may be struggling during this holiday season. "I encourage everyone to get out into our community to give back to fellow Coloradans who are most in need and take a moment to keep in mind families who may have an empty seat at the table this year," she said.
As Colorado prepares for Thanksgiving celebrations tomorrow, Governor Polis and Lt. Governor Primavera have set an example of compassion and generosity that reflects the spirit of this holiday. They have reminded us all to be grateful for what we have and to extend a helping hand to those in need. Happy Thanksgiving, Colorado!
