Rezul News/10725918
~ As the winter weather event "Fern" continues to impact southern Indiana, residents of the City of Bloomington can expect delays in their sanitation services. According to a press release from the City, these delays will begin on Monday, January 26, 2026.
The City's Public Works crews have been working diligently throughout the weekend to respond to the weather conditions. However, with the ongoing snowfall and frigid temperatures, travel conditions are expected to remain difficult and hazardous for the next few days.

At this time, there is no set date for when services will resume. The predicted sub-zero windchill temperatures and heavy snow accumulation are likely to cause extended delays. Depending on the length of these delays, it is possible that no pickups will occur this week.
In light of these circumstances, residents are being asked to keep their carts off the street until further notice and refrain from placing any additional materials curbside. The City will provide updates as conditions improve and service schedules are confirmed.
The City also expressed appreciation for residents' patience as crews prioritize safety and critical winter response efforts.
