Winter Weather Doesn't Have to Mean Home Damage, Says Oklahoma Roofing Expert
Rezul News/10725623
With winter weather forecasted to impact the Oklahoma City area, homeowners are encouraged to take action now to reduce the risk of cold-weather damage.
OKLAHOMA CITY - Rezul -- Winter weather in Oklahoma can be unpredictable. Some years bring mild cold snaps, while others deliver extended periods of freezing temperatures, ice, and snow. Regardless of the forecast, homeowners who take proactive steps before winter arrives are far less likely to deal with burst pipes, roof leaks, or costly emergency repairs.
To help, Triple Diamond Construction has released a new online guide, titled "How to Prepare Your Home and Roof for Freezing Temperatures," which provides practical, easy-to-follow steps homeowners can take to reduce the risk of costly winter-related issues. Topics covered include roof and gutter maintenance, ice dam prevention, pipe protection, insulation tips, and general winter preparedness.
"Winter damage is one of the most common and expensive issues we see as a roofing contractor, and many of those problems are preventable," said Greg Derr, owner of Triple Diamond Construction. "Our goal with this guide is to give homeowners clear, actionable information they can use before freezing temperatures arrive, not after damage has already occurred."

Unlike storm-specific advisories, the blog was intentionally written as an evergreen resource that homeowners can reference year after year. The guidance applies to a wide range of winter conditions, from short cold snaps to prolonged freezing periods that can put extra stress on roofs and home systems.
"Even small steps like cleaning gutters, checking attic insulation, or protecting exposed pipes can make a significant difference," Derr added. "We want homeowners to feel confident that they're doing everything they can to protect their investment."
The full blog is available on the Triple Diamond Construction website and is free to access:
