Rezul News/10709733
~ Boston, MA- The city's annual Putting for Parks fundraising event is back for its second year, bringing the community together for a day of golf while supporting free youth sports and fitness programs offered by the Recreation Division.
Mayor Michelle Wu expressed her excitement for the event, stating, "Putting for Parks is a fun and meaningful way to support the free youth programs that strengthen our neighborhoods. We hope you'll join us at George Wright this October!"
The tournament will begin with registration at 8:00 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Golfers can look forward to 18 holes of play, on-course contests, and a celebratory luncheon on the clubhouse patio. Individual registration is available for $175 or teams can register for $700.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting free youth sports programs in Boston. These programs include youth sports leagues, clinics, Summer Sports Centers, and the popular Mayor's Cup Tournaments in various sports such as soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, cross country, ice hockey, street hockey, tennis and more.
In 2024 alone, over 20,000 Boston youth were able to participate in these free programs thanks to the Recreation Division's efforts in providing access to physical activity, team building and leadership development in neighborhoods across the city.
