Rezul News/10724665
~ As the construction of the new Holocaust Museum in Downtown Boston continues, residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly. The disassembly of the tower crane at the construction site will result in road closures and detours on Tremont Street from Friday, January 9 to Sunday, January 11.

According to a press release from Lee Kennedy Builders, the closure of Tremont Street will begin at approximately 9 p.m. on Friday and will stretch from Beacon/School Street to Park Street. To accommodate this closure, vehicles traveling on Cambridge Street towards Boston Common will be detoured onto Beacon Street. Additionally, the one-way direction of Beacon Street will be reversed to allow for vehicles to turn right onto Bowdoin Street or continue straight on Beacon Street. Vehicles traveling up Bromfield Street will be directed onto Province Street to School Street.

The disassembly of the tower crane is not a public event and the project area will be closed to foot traffic for safety reasons. Police control will be posted at key intersections throughout the work area to assist with traffic diversion.

In Fenway, another event is set to take place on Saturday, January 10 at Fenway Park. Fenway Fest will bring in crowds and as a result, Van Ness Street will have temporary parking restrictions in place for law enforcement vehicles.

Meanwhile in Roslindale, drivers should take note of a bridge closure that was announced by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). The Canterbury Street Bridge will be closed starting Friday, September 12 at 9:00 p.m. due to findings from a recent bridge inspection. Pedestrian access will still be available but drivers should follow detour signage in place. The primary detour route includes Hyde Park Avenue, Cummins Highway, Rowe Street, Brown Avenue and Seymour Street.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and reduce speed while traveling through these affected areas. It is also recommended that attendees of these events utilize alternative modes of transportation such as walking, biking, or taking public transit. Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, can be found on their website and information on the MBTA can be found online. The MBTA also advises riders to purchase a round-trip ticket for a faster return trip.

In conclusion, with multiple events and road closures happening in Downtown Boston, Fenway, and Roslindale, it is important for residents and visitors to plan ahead and consider alternative modes of transportation to avoid any delays or inconveniences.
