Bloomington Arts Commission Announces 2026 Arts Operations Grant Cycle Now Open
Rezul News/10743148
~ The Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC) has recently announced the launch of its 2026 Arts Operations Support Grant program, in partnership with the City of Bloomington and the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association (BUEA). This grant program aims to support local non-profit organizations with a 501(c)3 status and a focus on arts-centered missions that have a positive impact on the Bloomington community.
To be eligible for this grant, organizations must have an annual operating budget of $500,000 or less. They can request funding of up to $5,000, which can be used for various operational costs such as overhead expenses, staff salaries, and programmatic expenses. In 2025, this program supported 19 organizations, allowing them to provide creative services to the entire community.
Gerard Pannekoek, Chair of the Bloomington Arts Commission Grants Committee, expressed the importance of this grant in recognizing the vital role played by local arts non-profits in the community. He stated that these grants help fill funding gaps and provide support to areas of the budget that are often overlooked by other funders. The Commission is grateful for the budgetary support from the Common Council and BUEA that allows them to continue offering this grant.
