Bakersfield artist Devyn Brinsfield releases new album after Paramount+ song placements
Rezul News/10740058
Bakersfield Americana artist Devyn Brinsfield releases, Dreamers & Losers, on July 10 following placements of two Brinsfield songs on the Paramount+ series Dutton Ranch.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Rezul -- Devyn Brinsfield, Bakersfield Americana/Outlaw Country Artist and School Bus Driver by Day, Announces New Album Dreamers & Losers After Two Songs Land in Paramount+ Series Dutton Ranch
Out July 10, the new album was produced by Kyle Appleton of Appleton Productions
BAKERSFIELD, Calif., July 7, 2026. Devyn Brinsfield, an Americana/outlaw country artist who spends his days as an elementary school bus driver and groundskeeper, will release his new album, Dreamers & Losers, on July 10, 2026. The album draws from honky-tonk and Bakersfield Sound traditions while pushing them into something raw, personal, and current.
The release follows a breakthrough moment for Brinsfield, whose songs "Bed I Made" and "Moonshiner's Ballad" were featured in Season 1, Episode 7 of Paramount+'s Dutton Ranch, the platform's biggest original series debut. The episode, titled "Den of Sin," aired June 19, 2026, and both songs were later included on the Dutton Ranch Official Playlist on Spotify.

Born and raised in Bakersfield, Brinsfield writes music rooted in working-class life, independence, and the everyday realities that run through Dreamers & Losers. For an independent artist still working a blue-collar day job, the Dutton Ranch placement marks a real breakthrough and shows the songs are already reaching beyond the local rooms they came from.
"It's a modern take on the Bakersfield Sound," says Brinsfield. "The record is meant to be played from the first song to the last."
Produced, mixed, and mastered by Appleton, who also played guitar, pedal steel, keys, and bass on the album, Dreamers & Losers reflects a close creative partnership between Brinsfield and Appleton. The record was made in the same city that shaped Buck Owens, Red Simpson, and Merle Haggard, but it does not treat that history as something frozen in the past.
"Kyle and I are such a good team," says Brinsfield. "We're on the same wavelength, so he's able to interpret my songs and bring them to life in a way that honors the honky-tonk past without feeling stale or fake."
Appleton says the connection came naturally.

"No one around here was really doing traditional country with grit and a bit of soul when we started working together," says Appleton. "We're both open-minded and willing to experiment with different sounds while still keeping the music tied to where we're from."
Dreamers & Losers was recorded and produced mostly in Appleton's home studio and at The Basement in the historic Woolworth's building in downtown Bakersfield.
With Dreamers & Losers, Brinsfield steps forward as an artist making music on his own terms. The album captures the difficulty of everyday life, the tenacity it takes to keep going, and the satisfaction of hearing independent songs move from local barrooms to a major television series.
