Arizona: Governor's Office to Hold Judicial Interviews for the Mohave County Superior Court

Phoenix, AZ ~ Phoenix, AZ - Governor Katie Hobbs has announced that her office will be conducting interviews for a judicial appointment to the Superior Court in Mohave County. The interviews will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at the Mohave County Board of Supervisors Auditorium located at 700 W. Beale Street in Kingman, AZ.

One of the candidates, Aaron M. Demke, is scheduled to be interviewed at 12:00 PM. The public is invited to attend the interview and there will also be a public comment period at 11:30 AM for individuals to share their thoughts on the judicial applicant.

For those unable to attend in person, written comments can be submitted to [insert email address] and must be received by Friday, May 8, 2026 for consideration. The candidate's application can also be viewed online at https://bc.azgovernor.gov/.

According to Arizona's Constitution, Superior Court judges in counties with a population of less than 250,000 people are typically elected by voters. However, in cases of vacancies due to the creation of a new division or the retirement/resignation of a judge, the governor is responsible for appointing a replacement until the next general election.
