Acadian Teashop Celebrates Grand Opening in New Minas
Rezul News/10746963
NEW MINUS, Nova Scotia - Rezul -- Six years after COVID-19 lockdowns interrupted her plans to open a shop, entrepreneur Paula Steenken is celebrating a long-awaited milestone. Acadian Teashop and Gift Boutique will hold its grand opening on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 9323 Commercial Street in New Minas.
The community is invited to explore the new shop, discover its selection of tea, treasures and local goods, and celebrate the determination behind a business that found a way forward through extraordinary circumstances.
Steenken was preparing to sign a commercial lease just one week before the pandemic lockdowns began in 2020. When those plans could no longer proceed, she adapted, launching Acadian Teas online and bringing her products to local markets.
What began during a period of uncertainty grew through years of online orders, market appearances and connections with customers, with her products now carried in stores across Nova Scotia and her retail network expanding across Canada. Now, that work has brought Steenken back to the dream she held at the beginning: a permanent location where she can welcome customers through her own front door.
