RENEWAL THROUGH GRIEF
In the Spring of 2015, Karen Trench was enjoying life as a happily married wife to her charming, loving, and supportive husband, Charlie. From the outside looking in, they were truly living the 'good life,' complete with a home in the Colorado Rockies and a loving partnership that knew no boundaries.
Karen's picture-perfect existence would be completely shattered one day when Charlie made the decision to end his own life.
She'd had no warning. She'd had no clue. No one could console Karen as she weathered this tragic, abrupt loss. And no one but Karen could comprehend the depths of despair she would have to go through in the aftermath of the loss of her best friend and copilot in life.
In the hours, days, and months that followed Charlie's death, Karen found herself awash in a sea of emotional struggles that tested her resolve like nothing she had ever faced before. But as horrific and debilitating as Charle's suicide was, eventually, it sent Karen on a journey of inner healing and self-discovery; to a place of intimately knowing and appreciating the transformative power of grief.

In her journal, Karen would write letters to Charlie. She would tell him how she was feeling, what she was thinking, and laid bare her deepest pain and sorrow. Over the years, her perspective on life, love, and the world changed as a result of her loss; perspectives that she came to think upon as "Lessons Learned."
In time, Karen's grief manifested into a passionate desire to help others heal. She realized that within her grief journal, she had amassed a trove of inspirational and empowering lessons that she knew might just fulfill her goal. Karen wrote Love Loss Light with the fervent wish that her story instills within others who are walking their own, unique path through loss, a sense of hope and encourages them to keep leaning into the wind with the absolute knowing that it is our love that leads us to grief, but it is our grief that leads us back to love.
