Winter Shelter Remains Available in St. Louis

Rezul News/10726605
~ St. Louis, MO - As temperatures continue to drop, the City of St. Louis has announced that it will be at Code Blue level 3 for the next few days, with the exception of Monday night. This means that emergency shelter beds will be available for those in need.

According to the press release distributed on February 1, 2026 and posted on the City's website on February 2, there will be about 450 emergency shelter beds available on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. These beds are in addition to the 400 year-round beds already in place. The City will also provide transportation to these shelters.

However, on Monday night when temperatures are expected to remain above 25°F, resulting in a Code Blue level 2 activation, some shelters will close due to warmer temperatures. Most shelters will remain open during this time and transportation services will not be active for the night.

For those seeking shelter, walk-ups are accepted at various locations throughout the city. In North City, Peter & Paul - Jugan Shelter is open for single men, single women, and families at 3225 N. Florissant Ave. In Central City, Biddle Housing Opportunities Center is open for single men only at 1212 N. 13th St. And in South City, Peter & Paul - Kingshighway Shelter is open for single men and women at 3205 S. Kingshighway Blvd.
