Weirding Way Media Launches "What, No F**kin' Ziti?", A New Podcast Devoted To HBO's The Sopranos
Rezul News/10734068
The Projection Booth host Mike White and Kulturecast host Chris Stachiw team up for an episode-by-episode journey through one of television's defining series
DETROIT - Rezul -- Weirding Way Media, the podcast network behind The Projection Booth, The Kolchak Tapes, and a growing slate of film and television programming, today announced the launch of What, No F**kin' Ziti?, a new monthly podcast dedicated to HBO's landmark series The Sopranos. The show is hosted by Mike White, creator and host of The Projection Booth, and Chris Stachiw, host of The Kulturecast. The first episode is available now at weirdingwaymedia.com and wherever podcasts are found.
What, No F**kin' Ziti? takes an episode-by-episode approach to David Chase's groundbreaking series, which aired on HBO from 1999 to 2007. The show carries a particular dynamic: Stachiw, a longtime fan of The Sopranos who has seen the series in its entirety multiple times, guides Mike through the show for the first time. New episodes drop on the first Friday of each month, with the hosts working their way through all eighty-six episodes of the series.

"I've been looking for an excuse to revisit this show with fresh eyes, and Mike is exactly the right person to do that with," said Stachiw. "He brings a cinephile's perspective to everything he watches, and watching him discover what The Sopranos is actually doing — under the hood, not just on the surface — that's the show."
Mike, whose Projection Booth podcast has spent over a decade applying rigorous critical analysis to cinema, comes to The Sopranos with an appreciation for the filmmakers and performers in its orbit but limited firsthand experience with the series itself. "I know Goodfellas. I know Lorraine Bracco and James Gandolfini from other work. And I've heard enough about the finale to have opinions about it," said Mike. "What I didn't expect was just how immediately this show gets under your skin. One episode in and I'm already excited for what's coming."

The premiere episode covers the series pilot, written and directed by David Chase, and finds the hosts examining the show's central conceit — a New Jersey mob boss in therapy — alongside its dense ensemble, its late-nineties cultural context, and the early signs of what would become one of the most discussed character arcs in television history.
What, No F**kin' Ziti? joins an expanding lineup at Weirding Way Media, which also produces The Kolchak Tapes, retrospective programming on Barney Miller and Columbo, and a range of film and genre programming from creators across the network.
