Waliin Completes First Community Fundraising Round and Unveils Major Platform Expansion

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Rezul -- Rochester, NY — December 29, 2025

Waliin, a global social media and digital engagement platform founded in 2019, today announced the successful completion of its first community-based fundraising round, led by Ethiopian and Eritrean communities worldwide. The fundraising initiative, which officially launched on June 29, 2025, has now concluded as planned on December 29, 2025.

This initial round was designed as a community-first investment opportunity, allowing early supporters to participate in Waliin's long-term vision. While the campaign was intentionally limited in scale and outreach, it marked an important milestone in strengthening trust and ownership among early supporters. Discussions with several international organizations that began prior to the closing date are still ongoing and will proceed under the original valuation terms.

At the start of the fundraising round in June 2025, Waliin's company valuation was approximately $20 million. Following six months of intensive platform development, feature expansion, and strong user growth, the company now estimates that its valuation has increased significantly.

Alongside the completion of the fundraising round, Waliin has released a major platform upgrade representing its second major release since first launching in June 2024. The new version introduces a modern, redesigned user experience built with updated technologies and performance improvements across the entire application.

Key new features include short-form video clips, playlists, crypto-enabled payments, advertising free trials, referral income opportunities, ambassador badges for creators, subscription options (both local and global), and direct audience support features. These updates position Waliin as a platform where users, creators, and businesses can actively earn and engage, not just publish content.

Waliin has also integrated crypto payment gateways to support users in Africa and other underserved regions, enabling broader access to digital commerce and in-app transactions. In addition, live chat customer support has been implemented directly within the Waliin app to improve real-time user assistance.
