Selected from a competitive applicant pool, T. Francis receives a microgrant to expand the reach of her card game, In Podcast Mode—a creative tool designed to spark intentional dialogue and restore authentic connection in everyday spaces.

HOUSTON - Rezul -- This Woman Knows Media has awarded its July 2025 microgrant to T. Francis, a creator who uses design and dialogue to foster meaningful connections. The $500 grant supports her project, In Podcast Mode, a conversational card game designed to spark intentional conversation in an increasingly distracted world.

Francis plans to use a portion of the grant to hire a virtual assistant for targeted outreach to podcasters and game stores. The remaining funds will support her travel to the Podcast Summit, where she will build in-person relationships, capture content, and introduce the game to more than 100 potential users and partners.

"This grant revitalized me—after receiving so many no's, getting a yes means everything and all the things," said Francis.

She also credited the Women of Color: An Intimate Conversation podcast, syndicated on This Woman Knows Network, for deepening the moment.

"Episode 10 helped me start breaking free from limiting beliefs. The timing couldn't have been more aligned," recounted Francis.

"In Podcast Mode (https://inpodcastmode.com) embodies the spirit of creative innovation we aim to uplift," said Lisa N. Alexander, founder of This Woman Knows. "She didn't just design a game; she created moments of presence, joy, and emotional restoration. We are honored to support this kind of sacred play."

"What moved us was her clarity," Alexander said. "She knew exactly who her work was for and how she planned to reach them. That kind of vision—paired with joy and intention—is exactly what this grant was created to support."

This announcement coincides with Black Business Month and Black Philanthropy Month, which celebrate the circulation of power, resources, and investment within communities that have been historically overlooked.

"At This Woman Knows, we believe that funding doesn't have to be complicated or performative," said Alexander. "Sometimes, a few hundred dollars is all it takes to accelerate an idea, stabilize a mission, or simply say, 'I believe in you.'"
