NEW YORK, May 19, 2025 ~ New York City - The MCU Foundation, the charitable arm of Municipal Credit Union (MCU), has announced a generous donation of $100,000 to support The Bowery Mission's ongoing efforts to provide essential resources to New Yorkers in need. The donation was presented by members of the MCU Foundation board and officers to The Bowery Mission's President & CEO James Winans and Chief Development Officer Karl Chan on May 12, 2025.
The contribution highlights MCU's commitment to reinvest in the well-being of New Yorkers by extending vital support to individuals and families facing financial strain. As a credit union deeply rooted in the city it serves, MCU is dedicated to empowering its neighbors and building stronger communities across all five boroughs.
"We are proud to continue strengthening local partnerships that allow us to give back to the community we serve," said George Chacon, President of the MCU Foundation. "With many of our members and employees living and working across all five boroughs, we understand the importance of supporting our neighbors in need. This donation will play a critical role in helping New Yorkers break the cycle of poverty and achieve lasting financial stability."
