Tacoma: City Launches New Online Resource Hub to Support Immigrant and Refugee Community
Rezul News/10726143
~ The City of Tacoma has taken a step towards better supporting its diverse community by launching a dedicated Immigration Resources webpage. This new digital hub aims to provide centralized access to information and resources for residents and local businesses, particularly those in the immigrant and refugee communities.
This initiative follows the adoption of Resolution 41844 by the Tacoma City Council on January 13, 2026. The resolution, brought forward by District 4 Council Member Sandesh Sadalge and co-sponsored by At-Large Council Members Olgy Diaz and Latasha Palmer, directed Interim City Manager Hyun Kim to enhance information sharing and outreach to ensure that all community members have access to vital resources.
The newly launched webpage brings together publicly available information into one easily accessible location. It includes links to immigration-related and other resources from various local, state, and national organizations. Additionally, it provides background on City Council legislation supporting the immigrant community, including their advocacy against the use of for-profit detention centers. The page also offers direct contact information for State and Federal legislative delegation members, as well as updates on State immigration-related legislative activity.
