Tacoma: Applications Now Being Accepted for a Position on the Planning Commission

~ The Tacoma City Council has announced that they are currently seeking applicants to fill the District No. 3 position on the Planning Commission. This position is open to individuals who reside in the district and are interested in shaping the city's future development.
As stated in the press release, the Planning Commission plays a crucial role in developing and updating the Comprehensive Plan and its elements. They also work towards creating effective regulations and processes for land use and development that align with the Comprehensive Plan. The commission holds meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
In line with their commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity, the City of Tacoma encourages individuals from all backgrounds to apply for this position. This includes BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, seniors, youth, immigrants, and refugees.

Applicants who are appointed to this position will be required to complete training on Open Public Meetings Act and Public Records Act within 90 days of their appointment. This training will be provided by the Washington State Office of the Attorney General.
