The commission has six open positions, including five member positions and one Emerging Leader position. The Emerging Leader position is specifically for individuals between the ages of 16 and 24.

The main responsibilities of the Human Services Commission include reviewing funding applications, evaluating project proposals, and making recommendations for human services funding. Additionally, the commission serves as a valuable resource for the City Council and City staff when it comes to implementing programs related to human services and community wellness.

The commission consists of 15 members who serve three-year terms, with the exception of the Emerging Leader position which has a one-year term. In an effort to promote diversity and inclusivity within its committees, boards, and commissions, the City is encouraging individuals from all backgrounds to apply for these vacancies.
