Sweet Memories Unveils Cascade Park Tees to Benefit Historic Carousel

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Rezul -- Sweet Memories Vintage Tees & Candy, in partnership with the New Castle Public Library and the City of New Castle, is proud to announce the launch of an exclusive Cascade Park t-shirt line. The collection was created to celebrate one of New Castle's most treasured landmarks while directly supporting restoration of the park's historic 1922 Carousel Building. For every shirt sold, $5 will be donated to the Restore the Memories campaign, which seeks $12,600 to stabilize the structure.

Honoring Cascade Park

Since opening in 1897, Cascade Park has been a destination for generations, welcoming families with its waterfalls, wildflowers, trails, bocce courts, and picnic pavilions. Once home to roller coasters, theaters, and the largest dance hall in Pennsylvania, the park has evolved into a year-round community hub. Today, events like the Italian Festival and Back to the 50's Festival keep its traditions alive.

Preserving the Carousel Building

The 1922 Carousel Building remains one of the park's most iconic structures. Funds from t-shirt sales will support its preservation through the New Castle Public Library's Restore the Memories Campaign. If the project cannot be completed, proceeds will benefit the Cascade Park Trust Fund, created to protect and enhance the park and other historic sites across the county.

"When we learned about the mission to restore the Carousel Building, we knew it aligned perfectly with our own goals of preservation," said Linda Barton, owner of Sweet Memories Vintage Tees & Candy. "Much like our work with Idora Park, this project is about more than bricks and mortar—it's about saving a piece of shared history."

The Cascade Park t-shirt line launches September 1, 2025, exclusively at Sweet Memories Vintage Tees & Candy's store and online shop. Each design reflects the park's charm and history, allowing supporters to wear a piece of New Castle's legacy.
