~ As winter weather makes a comeback in the St. Louis region, the City of St. Louis is taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of its residents. According to a press release distributed on March 15, 2026 and posted on the City's website on March 16, temperatures are expected to drastically drop overnight through Tuesday, accompanied by high winds and potential snowfall.

In anticipation of these weather events, the Street Department has put a crew on standby for this evening and overnight. They will be monitoring bridges and overpasses for any accumulation and potential freezing surfaces. The City is also urging individuals living in compromised housing to seek stable shelter proactively due to the likelihood of strong winds.

Although the Code Blue Executive Order ended on March 1, 2026, the City has been working closely with community partners to support those who are unhoused. Residents can view available shelter and transportation options through these partnerships. In case of emergency, individuals can call 211 for access to shelter space.

Looking ahead, the City of St. Louis will be reviewing its actions over the past five months as it prepares for future winter seasons and strives to improve its services for residents. As always, the safety and well-being of its citizens remain a top priority for the City.
