Springfield, Mo. ~ Springfield Police Department Commanders Honored at Missouri Police Chiefs Charitable Foundation Command College
On Friday, two commanders from the Springfield Police Department, Lt. Curt Ringgold and Lt. Jason Trusler, were recognized for their achievements at the 15th Missouri Police Chiefs Charitable Foundation (MPCCF) Command College. The ceremony was held in Springfield, Mo.
During the ceremony, Ringgold was elected as the class president by his peers and was also a featured speaker. He and Trusler graduated alongside 34 other law enforcement supervisors, commanders, chiefs, and sheriffs – making it the largest class to date.
The Command College is a six-month program that provides advanced training for command-level positions in law enforcement. It consists of 240 hours of coursework, one week per month. In addition to this training, students also have the opportunity to pursue a master's degree through Lincoln University.

Both Ringgold and Trusler have expressed their plans to continue their education and obtain a master's degree in criminal justice administration.
According to Police Chief Paul Williams, continuing education is crucial for department staff, officers, and commanders in order to effectively serve the community. He proudly acknowledged that Ringgold and Trusler are now part of the more than 20 previous graduates from the Springfield Police Department who have completed the Command College program.
Since its establishment, MPCCF has graduated over 360 individuals who have gone on to serve their communities with enhanced skills and knowledge.
The ceremony also included a photo opportunity with Lt. Jason Trusler on the left and Lt. Curt Ringgold on the right. Headshots of both commanders can be downloaded for media use.
