Springfield Police investigate homicide on East Montclair

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. ~ On the morning of November 18, 2025, Springfield police officers were called to an apartment at 324 E. Montclair after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 21-year-old Delquan Scott, a resident of Springfield, outside the building. Scott's family has been notified of his death.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Deandre Jonas from Springfield, was arrested at the scene. It was revealed that Jonas and Scott were acquainted with each other. The case will now be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for potential charges.

This marks the tenth homicide investigation in Springfield for the year 2025. The community is urged to remain vigilant and assist law enforcement in keeping their city safe.
