Springfield: City seeks applicants for Police Civilian Review Board

~ The City of Springfield is currently in search of applicants for the Police-Civilian Review Board, a volunteer board consisting of seven members. The board meets as needed to review appeals made by private citizens regarding determinations made by the Springfield Police Department on matters of officer conduct.

With one spot available on the board, interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline on January 27. Those who have previously applied within the past year will still be considered for appointment as their applications are still on file.

The City Council's Committee of the Whole will convene after the application period closes to review all submissions and make appointments accordingly. The Police-Civilian Review Board was initially formed in 1999 with five members but was expanded to seven members in 2020.
