~ At approximately 9 a.m. on March 26, 2026, law enforcement officers were called to the intersection of E. Euclid Ave and N. Market St in response to a report of a disorderly male. The call was made by an employee from a nearby business who requested that the individual be removed from the premises.
Upon arrival, officers located the male inside a vehicle. As they approached him, he brandished a knife and refused to comply with their commands. In order to ensure the safety of all involved, officers called for additional resources including SWAT and the Hostage Negotiation Team.

The situation remained active for several hours as authorities worked to safely resolve the incident. Finally, at 1:14 p.m., Officer T. Leming, PIO announced that the male had been taken into custody without further incident and N. Market St was reopened to traffic.
The public is thanked for their patience and cooperation during this tense situation. The area between E. Bridgeport Avenue and E. Euclid Avenue was temporarily closed off but has now been cleared for normal activity.
