Spectrum Medical Hires LGBTQ+ Healthcare Pioneer as New Medical Director

PHOENIX, June 6, 2025 ~ Spectrum Medical Care Center, a leading healthcare provider, has recently announced the addition of Dr. Howard Grossman as their new medical director. Dr. Grossman is a highly respected board-certified internist with a renowned reputation for his groundbreaking contributions to HIV medicine and LGBTQ+ health.

With his extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Grossman will lead Spectrum's medical practice starting this month. The clinic's founder, Dr. Thanis Vanig, expressed excitement about the new addition to their team and believes that Dr. Grossman's experience will be instrumental in growing their primary care services and achieving their vision for the future.

Dr. Grossman brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles at The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada, Archwell Health, Howard Brown Health, Midway Specialty Care in Wilton Manors, FL, and the Conant Medical Foundation in San Francisco. He has also served as the Executive Director of the American Academy of HIV Medicine and worked at Fenway Community Health in Boston.

A graduate of Haverford College and SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, Dr. Grossman completed his residency at Kings County Hospital where he encountered some of the first AIDS cases in the 1980s.

As Spectrum's new medical director, Dr. Grossman is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to LGBTQ+ patients while creating a safe and comfortable environment for them to receive care. He believes that delivering care to this community goes beyond just medicine; it involves treating individuals with respect, honoring their autonomy, and addressing their unique needs.
