Rezul News/10722638
~ Downtown Mesa is bustling with holiday cheer as Merry Main Street activities are in full swing until January 10th. The city's main street is transformed into a winter wonderland, offering a variety of opportunities for visitors to shop, eat, and play.
With over 40 restaurants, coffee shops, and bars, as well as more than 60 eclectic stores and businesses, Downtown Mesa is the perfect place to find unique Christmas gifts and other items. And on Friday, December 12th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Holiday Sunset Market will bring even more options for shoppers. Over 30 local vendors will be set up along Macdonald north of Main Street, selling fresh grocery products, tasty hot food, artisan goods, and more. The market will also feature demonstrations and live music for a festive atmosphere.
For those looking to get in some quality time with Santa before he heads back to the North Pole for Christmas preparations, The Post at 26 N. Macdonald is the place to be. Santa will be available for visits on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., except on Saturday, December 12th when he will be there from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. He will also make an appearance on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving children the chance to share their gift requests and take photos with him.

But Santa isn't just making appearances for human visitors - he'll also be stopping by for Santa Paws on Sunday, December 14th and Sunday, December 21st from noon to 4 p.m., west of the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink. Pet owners can bring their furry friends for a photo opportunity with Jolly Ol' Saint Nick.
Speaking of the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink, it will have extended hours during the holiday season starting on December 22nd. The rink will be open daily from noon to 10 p.m. until January 4th, with the exception of Christmas Eve when it will close at 6 p.m. and be closed on Christmas Day.
For those looking for some holiday entertainment, the Plaza at Mesa City Center is the place to be on Fridays through January 2nd from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Holiday Movies at the Plaza. Visitors can watch festive movies while skating on the ice rink or bring blankets to sit under the stars and enjoy holiday classics on the large screen.
Live music is also a part of Merry Main Street, with musical entertainment every Friday through December 26th at the stage on Macdonald near the Christmas tree. The schedule can be found on the Merry Main Street calendar.
