Save the Date! Long Beach Pride Parade Returns May 17

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach is proud to announce that it will once again serve as the official host of the Long Beach Pride Parade for the third consecutive year. This annual event, now in its 43rd year, is a cherished tradition and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in Long Beach. The parade will take place on Sunday, May 17 at 10 a.m.
Mayor Rex Richardson expressed his excitement for the parade, stating that it is a powerful expression of the city's values of diversity, inclusivity, and unity. He also emphasized the importance of supporting an event that uplifts and celebrates the vibrant LGBTQ+ community in Long Beach.
The Long Beach Pride Parade has been a staple in both Long Beach and the greater Los Angeles region for decades, drawing thousands of spectators and participants each year. The 43rd annual parade will begin at Ocean Boulevard and Lindero Avenue and travel along iconic stretches of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue in Downtown. More details about this year's parade, including grand marshals and other features, will be announced by the City at a later date.

Businesses and community organizations interested in participating in the parade can submit an application from now until Monday, May 4th. There is no entry fee to participate, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Second District Councilwoman Cindy Allen shared her personal connection to the event as a mother of an LGBTQ+ daughter. She expressed her gratitude for being able to continue supporting an event that brings together the city and region in such a powerful way.
In support of this longstanding tradition that celebrates visibility, rights, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community, $50,000 has been allocated towards the Long Beach Pride Parade as part of the adopted Fiscal Year 2026 Budget by the City Council. Additionally, $50,000 has been provided by the Port of Long Beach. More information about funding and sponsorship will be announced at a later date.
Dr. Noel Hacegaba, CEO of the Port of Long Beach, highlighted the importance of the parade in honoring the courage and strength of the city's people. He expressed the Port's pleasure in sponsoring such an important community institution.
