Rezul News/10734458
Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) has announced the return of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) Dodgers Dreamteam program for local underserved youth this summer. The program, which is rooted in baseball and softball, aims to provide critical resources and services to underserved youth through the power of sports.
Registration for the 2026 Dodgers Dreamteam program is now open and will run until May 31. This year's program will offer T-ball and coach pitch for ages 5 to 8, as well as baseball and fastpitch softball for youth ages 9 to 18. With a goal of providing equitable access opportunities for all participating youth, PRM plans to offer 89 teams across 23 parks throughout the city.
Mayor Rex Richardson expressed his pride in being a longstanding partner of LADF and bringing the Dodgers Dreamteam program to over 5,000 Long Beach youth since its inception in 2017. He emphasized that the program goes beyond just sports, offering underserved youth the chance to build positive relationships with their peers and mentors while also connecting them with resources that support their mental and physical well-being.

The Dodgers Dreamteam program is made possible by a $50,430 grant from LADF, which PRM has received since 2017. Over the years, the program has positively impacted over 5,000 Long Beach youth ages 5 to 18, with over 1,300 players participating in the 2025 program alone.
By offering the Dodgers Dreamteam program, PRM is fulfilling its commitment to the Parks Make Long Beach Strategic Plan by providing meaningful recreational programming and events while reducing barriers to enrollment for low-income youth. For more information or to register for the program, visit teamsideline.com/longbeach or go to the Long Beach page on the Dodgers Dreamteam website. Any additional questions can be directed to the Long Beach Sport office at 562.570.1707 or youthsports@longbeach.gov.
