Propel Solar Loan Brings $0-Down Financing to Massachusetts and Rhode Island Homeowners
Rezul News/10742748
South Shore-based solar provider now offers the zero-down Propel financing program to homeowners across both states.
SCITUATE, Mass. - Rezul -- Solar Dave, a Massachusetts-based solar consultant serving homeowners throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island with a home base on the South Shore, announced the availability of the Propel Solar Loan program, a $0-down financing option now live for homeowners across both states.
Propel is offered through Concert Finance, with loans originated by Medallion Bank, Member FDIC. For the first five years, Concert Finance owns the solar system under a prepaid energy services agreement, and the homeowner makes a fixed monthly payment. At the start of year six, ownership transfers automatically to the homeowner at no cost, and the homeowner keeps 100% of the electricity the system produces going forward.
That structure lets the financing capture commercial solar tax incentives unavailable to a cash purchase, since the federal residential solar tax credit expired at the end of 2025. The savings can reportedly bring total cost down 25% or more compared to paying cash, even after financing costs.

Other terms include a fixed APR of approximately 9.69%, a 25-year loan term, no prepayment penalty, and credit approval typically available to homeowners with scores in the low 600s and above. The loan is also transferable if the home is sold, subject to lender approval.
During the first five years, homeowners are covered by a performance guarantee, ongoing operations and maintenance, a five-year workmanship warranty, a ten-year roof penetration warranty, and 25 years of system monitoring.
"Most homeowners looking into solar get stuck on the upfront cost or a loan payment that's higher than what they're trying to save on their electric bill," said Dave Simmer of Solar Dave. "Propel was built to solve that. Zero down, no equity needed, and the numbers work out lower than paying cash outright. That changes whether solar is realistic for a lot of homeowners across Massachusetts and Rhode Island right now, including the South Shore towns I work in most."

In Massachusetts, Propel can be paired with the state's SMART 3.0 production-based incentive. In Rhode Island, it works with net metering at full retail credit, plus sales and property tax exemptions on solar systems.
