Nurses SHIFT Change Announces National "Report for Duty Rally" in Washington, DC
Rezul News/10729919
Nurse leaders, healthcare professionals, and advocates will gather May 7, 2026, to elevate nurse voices in national healthcare policy conversations and highlight solutions for workforce sustainability and access to care.
WASHINGTON - Rezul -- Nurses SHIFT Change, a national nurse-led movement focused on strengthening healthcare systems and communities, will host the Report for Duty Rally on May 7, 2026, in Washington, DC. The event will bring together nurses, healthcare professionals, educators, students, and community advocates from across the country to highlight the critical role nurses play in shaping the future of healthcare.
Nurses represent the largest segment of the U.S. healthcare workforce and consistently rank among the most trusted professionals in the nation. Yet the perspectives of nurses—those closest to patient care—are often missing from national conversations about workforce sustainability, access to care, and public health priorities.

The Report for Duty Rally is designed to elevate those voices.
Participants will take part in a two-day convening that includes leadership alignment, public engagement, and educational meetings with policymakers on Capitol Hill. The gathering will focus on four priority areas central to the Nurses SHIFT Change mission:
Activities will begin with an evening leadership and advocacy briefing on May 6, followed by the national rally and educational meetings with policymakers on May 7.
"Nurses see firsthand how healthcare policy and system decisions affect patients and communities," said Dr. Lendra James, DNP, RN, co-founder of Nurses SHIFT Change. "This rally creates space for nurses to share their expertise, connect with leaders, and advance practical solutions that strengthen care delivery nationwide."
