Naperville Police Arrest Three Following Investigation into June 18 Armed Robbery
Rezul News/10738600
On June 18, 2026, Naperville Police arrested three men on armed robbery, mob action, and other felony charges following an investigation into an incident that occurred earlier that morning.
Naperville Police were called to the 1700 block of West Ogden Avenue just after 4 a.m. on June 18 for a report of an armed robbery. Responding officers learned that the two female victims had allegedly arrived at the location so one of them could fight Tyrell Mays, 19, who was known to the women. During the fight between Mays and one of the women, two other suspects – later identified as Davyon Toney, 19, and Jalen Green, 19 – allegedly displayed a handgun, battered the second victim, and took the victims' belongings, including a backpack containing a firearm. The three men fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
Mays was located by police a short time later trying to leave the area in a ride-share. He was allegedly in possession of the stolen firearm. Further investigation led to the identification of Green as a second suspect. A search warrant was executed at Green's residence on the 700 block of Violet Circle in Naperville early that afternoon, resulting in the arrest of the remaining two suspects and the recovery of the handgun allegedly used during the incident as well as additional items allegedly stolen during the earlier encounter.

Davyon Toney, 19, of the 500 block of Northgate Circle in Oswego; Jalen Green, 19, of the 700 block of Violet Circle in Naperville; and Tyrell Mays, 19, of the 2800 block of Troon Drive in Montgomery, are each charged with two counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm (Class X felony) and one count of Mob Action (Class 4 felony). Toney and Green are each also charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery (Class 3 felony).
"Violent crimes such as armed robbery have no place in our community. These charges reflect the seriousness of the allegations and the commitment of the Naperville Police Department to aggressively investigate violent crimes, seek justice for victims, and hold those responsible accountable," said Police Chief Jason Arres. "I want to commend the outstanding work of our patrol officers, Special Response Team members, and detectives whose professionalism, persistence, and coordination were instrumental in bringing this investigation to a successful conclusion. Their efforts demonstrate the strength of a department-wide approach to public safety and our unwavering commitment to protecting our community."
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
