Naperville Police Arrest Aurora Convicted Felon Charged with Possessing Multiple Firearms Including Machine Gun

~ Naperville, IL - Last week, Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State's motion to deny pre-trial release for Dionte Neustadter, a 46-year-old Aurora resident and convicted felon. Neustadter is facing multiple charges including possession of a machine gun and nearly 775 grams of cocaine.

DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin and Naperville Chief of Police Jason Arres made the announcement today, commending the efforts of the Naperville Police Department in apprehending Neustadter. According to authorities, detectives received information in early January 2026 about a stolen 2024 Ford F150 Raptor with Tennessee license plates that had been spotted multiple times in Naperville.

On January 15, officers observed the white Ford Raptor at a gas station on N. Aurora Road. After the vehicle left the gas station and allegedly committed a traffic violation, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. However, the driver fled at a high rate of speed and evaded capture.

Through their investigation, authorities identified Neustadter as the alleged driver of the stolen vehicle. On February 24, officers took him into custody as he stood outside his vehicle in the 1100 block of East Ogden Avenue. At the time of his arrest, Neustadter was allegedly in possession of approximately 21 grams of cocaine.

A search warrant was executed at Neustadter's residence where authorities allegedly found a stolen Ford Raptor key fob, eight firearms (including a machine gun), and approximately 753 grams of cocaine. The firearms included a modified pistol with an automatic switch reported stolen from Country Club Hills, as well as loaded pistols reported stolen from Whiteside County.

State's Attorney Berlin praised the efforts of the Naperville Police Department for their vigilant work in locating and apprehending Neustadter. He also thanked Assistant State's Attorney Michael Paup for securing charges against the convicted felon.

Chief Arres also commended the investigators for their thorough work in gathering evidence and building a strong case against Neustadter. He expressed gratitude to State's Attorney Berlin and his team for their support in this matter.

Neustadter appeared at First Appearance Court last Thursday and was charged with one count of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine Between 400-900 Grams, one count of Aggravated Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, one count of Possession of a Machine Gun, eight counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and one count of Misdemeanor Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer.

His next court appearance is scheduled for March 23, 2026, in front of Judge Ann Celine O'Hallaren Walsh. The public is reminded that Neustadter is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
