Miller Homes Marks Historic Moment in Leeds Village
Rezul News/10499292
LEEDS, U.K. - Rezul -- A historic moment has taken place in the picturesque West Yorkshire village of Bramhope, as a time capsule commemorating the unusual year that 2020 has been was placed in the ground.
The capsule, which is a project initiated by leading housebuilder Miller Homes, has been filled with contributions from the local community, local parish church and some wonderfully inspiring memories of the year from the children at Bramhope Primary School.
"2020 will be a year that goes down in history and we felt that it would be important to mark the positives that have emerged such as community spirit, resilience and family memories," said Sarah Whinfrey, Regional Sales Manager, Miller Homes Yorkshire. "We were truly humbled with the content that people have produced and many of the work created by the children at Bramhope Primary School was inspired, really capturing the emotion of the last nine months."
The capsule is located in a public open space at the entrance to the housebuilders' Spring Wood Park development in the village, which opened earlier this year. Marked by a plaque, the capsule was placed in the ground by three members of the Miller Homes Yorkshire team present; Sarah Whinfrey, Regional Sales Manager; Chris Carlin, Marketing Manager and Grant Gibson, Site Manager at Spring Wood Park.

"It was nice to be able to mark the occasion and create a special moment in our history, whilst ensuring we remained Covid Secure," said Sarah. "In 50 years' time, when we ask that the capsule is removed from the ground, we hope that the residents of Spring Wood Park and Bramhope enjoy looking at this unique moment in history."
Barry Anderson, Councillor Adel and Wharfedale which encompasses Bramhope commented: "This has been a brilliant initiative, has given the community a focus and marks a viewpoint in the history of Bramhope. It's been a way of bringing everyone in the village together and I'm sure will provide a point in history for researchers in the future. Millers Homes are trying to put something back into our community and I believe that it's important that developers become part of the community – this will leave a great legacy for future generations."
